Kate Fox, CMT, CLMA, CSPA
She is a Clinical Soft Tissue and Movement Specialist, educator, and founder of both NewPath Wellness® and the Performing Artists Injury Treatment Center (PAITC) in Los Angeles. She helps dancers, musicians, and creative professionals recover from pain and injury—especially when conventional care has fallen short.
With more than 30,000 hands-on sessions and over 25 years of clinical practice, Kate blends orthopedic assessment, neuromuscular therapy, postural alignment, and corrective movement education to identify and address the root causes of persistent pain. Her approach is trusted by performers, physicians, and educators alike.
A lifelong mover and former dancer, Kate earned her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from CalArts, followed by certification as a Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA) and Certified Massage Therapist (CMT). In 2015, she completed advanced training in the Symmetry for Health® system, integrating objective postural measurement and corrective exercise into clinical care.
Kate’s teaching and mentorship span both healthcare and performing arts settings. She served as faculty at the National Holistic Institute for 6 years, training massage and neuromuscular therapists in assessment and rehabilitation, and has been an onsite injury clinician for The Colburn School’s Conservatory of Music since 2012. Her guest lectures and workshops include CalArts’ Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance, Music Academy of the West, Pasadena Dance Theatre, SCW Fitness Conferences, and CalState Northridge, among others.
Through NewPath Wellness® and PAITC, Kate continues to advance the field of performing arts medicine, fostering collaboration between clinicians, educators, and arts organizations to create sustainable, injury-informed ecosystems for artists.
She is a proud member of PAMA (Performing Arts Medicine Association), Doctors for Dancers, ABMP, CAMTC, and the Burbank Chamber of Commerce.
“I was told it was all in my head. Kate found the root of the issue in our first session—and for the first time in years, I felt relief.”
Kate Fox, CMT, CLMA is endlessly passionate about movement and the body. Kate has been a licensed and certified massage therapist (CMT) since 2001, training extensively in therapeutic and rehabilitative bodywork modalities throughout her career.
